Part of being a creative person is feeling an urge to make your mark on the world. Envato Authors embody this spirit by creating assets that have a ripple effect on the global creative community. The assets you—our Authors—create end up in projects that help Envato’s customers leave their mark all over the globe.
We’re celebrating this aspect of creativity by hosting a competition that gives Envato Authors the chance to win a share of a $1,500 USD cash prize pool, plus $500 worth of merch!
All you have to do is submit a behind-the-scenes video showcasing how you create an item that ends up for sale on Envato.
You can give us a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes magic of your photo shoots, video production, graphic asset creation, music recording, and more! Show us how you Make your Mark!

Competition brief: Make Your Mark
- Share behind-the-scenes footage into your creative process using the tagline Make Your Mark as inspiration.
- Start your video by introducing yourself: your name, your content type and where you’re from, e.g. “I’m Alex Kowalska and I’m a musician from Poland” or “My name is Aminah, and I’m a graphics Author based in Indonesia”.
- If possible, showcase the finished item (preferably available on Elements) to illustrate the evolution from concept to completion.
- You can share the creative process of any kind of item, like a photo or video shoot, graphic asset creation, music recording, storyboard, timelapse, or any other aspect of your artistic journey.
- Explain how you bring your unique style to the item/s and how they will help Envato customers to make their mark.
- Display your creativity in video format. See technical requirements below.

Technical requirements
- Submissions must be in video format (either .mp3, .mp4 or .mov).
- Your video should be no longer than 2 min.
- Your entry must be in vertical form (9×16)—this is so we can use it on Envato’s social media accounts!
- Follow all terms and conditions and meet the competition brief.
Prizes
- First prize is $1000 USD, an Envato merch pack, and promotion of your entry on our marketing channels comprising at least 1x social media post and at least 1x blog feature within 2 months of competition end date.
- Second prize is $300 USD, an Envato merch pack, and promotion on Envato marketing channels
- Third prize is $200 USD plus promotion on Envato marketing channels

Terms and conditions
These are our terms for the “Make Your Mark ” promotion (“Promotion”). By participating in this Promotion, you’re agreeing to these terms, so it’s important that you read and understand them!
- Eligibility: To enter this Promotion, you must be an existing Envato Author (with items for sale on either or both platforms), and at least 13 years of age (if you’re under 18 years of age please get your parent or guardian’s permission to enter). Envato employees are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.
- Promotion Period: The Promotion runs from Tuesday 30 April 2024, 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (“AEST”) to Sunday, 19 May 2024, 11:59pm AEST. No entries will be accepted after this period.
- Important Note: All dates and times listed throughout these terms and conditions are in AEST. Entrants are solely responsible for determining the corresponding time in their respective territories.
- Entry Limit: Only one entry per person is allowed.
- How to Enter: To enter this Promotion, submit your entry as an attachment to the Promotion form by Sunday 26 May 2024, 11:59 pm AEST.
- Your entry must show us the behind the scenes of creating an item for Envato
- Your entry must be in video format, following the specifications outlined here
- Prizes: There are three (3) prizes in total:
- First prize is $1000 USD, an Envato merch pack, and promotion of your entry on our marketing channels comprising at least 1x social media post and at least 1x blog feature within 2 months of competition end date.
- Second prize is $300 USD, an Envato merch pack, and promotion on Envato marketing channels
- Third prize is $200 USD plus promotion on Envato marketing channels
- Judging: This is a game of skill and entries will be judged according to set criteria by a panel made up of Envato staff including storytelling, originality, creativity and technical skill. Decisions will be made on or around Friday 31 May. All decisions made about this Promotion by the judges and the Envato are final.
- Winner Notification: Judges will select one first prize winner and two runners up . The Envato Author team will use reasonable attempts to notify prize winners via email by 5 June 2024. If a prize winner does not claim their prize by Monday 19 August 2024. Envato may award the prize to the next eligible winner, or forfeit that prize.
General Terms
- Prizes cannot be exchanged or substituted for cash or alternative goods and services. In the event that the prize is unavailable for any reason, Envato may replace the prize with another prize of equal value. Entrants are responsible for meeting any tax obligations that arise with claiming a prize.
- To the extent that your entry contains or consists of a copyright work, you (or your parent/guardian) grant us an ongoing, worldwide, royalty-free non-exclusive license to use your entry for the purposes of administering this Promotion and otherwise in connection with the promotion of Envato’s products and services including sharing or posting your entry on our social media channels.
- You (or your parent/guardian) promise that any information you give to us is true and correct and your entry is your own original creation and work, and does not infringe the rights (including copyright) of any other person. You (or your parent/guardian) will indemnify us in relation to any loss or damage resulting from any breach of this promise whether it is on purpose or not.
- By entering this Promotion, you (or your parent/guardian) consent to us sharing your account name on Envato’s Instagram page. You (or your parent/guardian) further consent to any other personal information shared by you, to be used for the purposes of administering this Promotion and otherwise in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Play fair! We reserve the right not to award prizes, to disqualify entrants, and to discontinue a contest if there is any illegal or fraudulent behavior and also to cancel the promotion if there are any circumstances that mean the promotion can’t be run as planned, this includes technical issues, hacking, natural disasters and anything else beyond our control.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Envato any from liability, loss or damage that you may suffer in connection with your participation in this Promotion including without limitation if
- the Promotion is if canceled, modified or suspended or delayed;
- we do not receive your Entry within the Promotion Period for any reason; or
- if you win a Prize and there is any delay or failure by a third party to deliver the Prize, or a failure by any third party to meet any of its obligations in connection with a Prize.
- This Promotion is run by Envato Pty Ltd whose office is at Level 7, 180 Flinders St, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 Australia.
