We’re Helping Users to Find the Perfect Graphics Template, Faster

Introducing new filters and categories for users searching for graphic templates!

Here at Envato, we’re all about showing up for creatives and making it easier for them to find the content they’re looking for. 

That’s why we’re improving the search experience with 3 fancy enhancements to our functionality across our Graphics Templates. First up, we’ve introduced a “Canva Compatible” filter, which will feature all graphic templates approved for Canva compatibility, allowing users to locate Canva-ready templates in a snap.

Next, we’ve rolled out a new social media template subcategory to streamline the search process. Users will be able to find all their favourite social media templates in one spot, without the hassle of clicking through endless items.  

And last, but by no means least, we’ve implemented a Microsoft Word application supported filter to help users quickly find templates that play nice with Microsoft Word, for all their document needs.

Introducing a ‘Canva Compatible’ graphic template filter

Canva boasts a community of hundreds of millions of creatives and design enthusiasts who are looking for high-quality, eye-catching templates.  We’ve also seen Canva use continue to increase in popularity among Envato Elements users over the past year, growing from 26% to 43% in 2023, with Canva-related searches on the rise as well.

And now, there’s a new opportunity to make your templates “Canva compatible” and get them in front of even more of these customers! Graphic templates that are approved for Canva compatibility will be featured under the brand new “Canva Compatible” filter making it easier for users to find your templates.Picture this; a Canva user is hunting for the perfect design template on Elements and comes across your template during their search. With the “Canva Compatible” attribute, they know that your template is effortlessly editable and ready to be customised within Canva.

So, how do you upload a Canva compatible graphic template?
All you need to do is ensure your templates follow our Canva specific guidelines which are outlined in our Help Center article and cover things like file format, asset use, and limitations. By following these simple steps, you’ll be well on your way to showcasing your graphic template creations in the new Canva search filter.

Say hello to our Social Media graphic template category

We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand new sub-category: Social Media Templates 

This new sub-category streamlines Elements search, putting all the social media templates in one convenient place, subscribers will no longer have to search for the perfect social media template in the websites and UX/UI kit categories. 

Moving forward, all new social media template uploads will belong in this dedicated category. This ensures your fantastic creations are easily discoverable by designers everywhere. We are currently working on moving relevant existing items as detailed below (Behind the Scenes).

  • Instagram
  •  Facebook
  •  YouTube
  •  Twitch
  •  Tiktok
  •  Banner Ads in web standard dimensions

While these templates would not be part of the social media template category:

  • Email signatures
  •  Landing Pages

Behind the Scenes:We’ve already migrated a whopping 21,900 social media templates to this new category as part of our library management efforts. In the coming weeks we will migrate the remaining templates and look to close down the Graphics > Social category.

We’ve added new Microsoft Word, Doc and Docx file attributes

We’ve got great news for Microsoft Word fans: it is now so much easier for users to find your Word-friendly templates! We’ve added a new “Microsoft Word Application Supported” filter to our Graphic Templates search which means subscribers can quickly surface your templates that work seamlessly with Microsoft Word.

Do you have Word-compatible templates?

If you’ve created templates for Microsoft Word, be sure to update their attributes to include “Microsoft Word Compatible.” This will help your content reach the many subscribers who prefer using Word.

By updating your attributes, you’ll:

  • Make it easier for subscribers to find your content
  • Increase the value you offer to Word users
  • Stand out from the crowd with well-categorised templates

These new filters and categories are designed to highlight your work and ensure it gets in front of the right audience.
