Seasonal Trend Alert: June–August 2024
As the Northern Hemisphere emerges from the depths of winter into the color and brightness of spring, it’s time for creative stock producers to start thinking about the season ahead. From May onwards, organizations across the world will start preparing for their June, July, and August content and campaigns.
These months bring warmer days, more sunshine, and plenty of global events that will influence the demand for relevant content. From Pride Month and Juneteenth, to the International Day of Yoga and the Paris Games, there’s plenty to look forward to!
Summer is full of opportunities to inspire our customers with your creations. If you haven’t got anything ready for these events yet, there’s still time to create something!

Events in June
Summer, summer solstice and Midsummer
Summer officially begins in the Northern Hemisphere on 20 June 2024, although many people consider the start of June to be the start of summer as well. The date also marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere—the longest day of the year.
A few days later, on 24 June, is Midsummer (also known as Midsommar in places such as Sweden). Midsummer festivals are held all over the Northern Hemisphere where people gather around bonfires and Maypoles to celebrate the season.

Pride month
Pride Month is celebrated every June to honor the LGBTQIA+ community. The month of June is chosen to commemorate the Stonewall riots, a series of protests and riots that began on 28 June 1969.
Pride month is a time for the LGBTQIA+ people and allies to celebrate their identity, commemorate the progress LGBTQIA+ activists have made, and the continual struggle for acceptance and inclusion in all aspects of life.

Juneteenth
Juneteenth, AKA Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an annual holiday in the United States that commemorates the end of slavery. Its name derives from the date itself: 19 June, which marks the anniversary of Major General Gordon Granger ordering the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas.
Juneteenth has been celebrated by African Americans since the late 1800s and is used to recognize the end of slavery and to honor the history, culture, activism and achievements of African Americans.
Men’s health month
June is Men’s Health Month, with Men’s Health Week occurring from 10–16 June 2024. This time is used to spread awareness and information on health challenges commonly faced by men, including prostate and testicular cancer, heart disease, mental health issues and suicide. Campaigns aim to encourage men and boys to talk about their mental and physical health, schedule regular medical checkups, and make healthy lifestyle changes.
Father’s Day
Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June by a range of countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Chile, France and Argentina. This year, the date is 16 June. Father’s Day is a time for people to honor, celebrate, and thank their fathers and father figures for their invaluable role and contribution to their families.

International Day of Yoga
21 June 2024 will mark the UN’s 9th annual International Day of Yoga. Following its inception in 2015, the day has been used to promote the practice of yoga, which originated in ancient India.

2024 Tour de France
The Tour de France is one of the most prestigious and famous multi-stage bicycle races in the world. In 2024, the Tour will start in Florence, Italy on 29 June, and will finish in Nice, France on 21 July.
Events in July
2024 Wimbledon Championships
The Wimbledon Championships is renowned as one of the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. This year’s tournament begins on 1 July and runs until 14 July. Wimbledon is known for its strict dress code, royal patronage, and strawberries and cream tradition. It offers a unique blend of competitive sportsmanship and British cultural heritage.
Independence day (USA)
Independence Day in the United States, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a patriotic holiday commemorating the nation’s declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. It is a day marked by nationwide celebrations including fireworks, parades, concerts, and family gatherings. Americans often celebrate with barbecues, displaying the flag, and enjoying the summer weather. It’s a day of national pride, reflecting on the country’s history, its founding principles, and the values of freedom and democracy.

Summer Olympics
The 2024 Paris Games are set to be a major global sports event, bringing together athletes from around the world to compete in a wide range of sports.
While this event will drive a lot of customer demand, make sure you’re careful with the way that you represent the games.
The Olympic rings, as well as the words “Olympic”, “Olympiad”, “Olympic Games”, “Paralympic”, and even “ are all heavily trademarked and protected, especially in the US. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has even lodged trademarks for terms such as “Olympic Stadium”, “Friends of the Games” and “Paris 2024”.

Events in August
International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples
The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, celebrated on 9 August, honors the cultures, traditions, and contributions of indigenous groups worldwide. It also addresses their challenges, including rights and environmental protection issues. This day underscores the vital role indigenous communities have in maintaining cultural diversity and environmental knowledge, and promotes global efforts towards achieving equality and justice for them.
